Life as a Jesus follower will be challenging. Some people will experience persecution. Others will not, but their danger will be worldly distractions and temptations. The Enemy doesn’t care how he ruins our faith, so long as he ruins it.
The book of Hebrews was written to Jewish Jesus followers facing both trials and temptations, and this letter was written to urge them to stand firm together in their faith and focus on Jesus.
Our series this month will look at some very practical ways that we can stand firm together. With the encouragement of the book of Hebrews, we will consider these questions:
- Why would I commit to Jesus publicly? (May 5, 2019)
- Why would I commit to a church family? (May 12, 2019)
- Why would I commit to serving in ministry? (May 19, 2019)
- Why would I renew my commitments? (May 26, 2019)
In preparation, please watch this video by Bible Project on the book of Hebrews. It is a brief but helpful summary of what the book is about.
